Well goddamn its 2010! Have you guys made your resolutions? I’ve made a few but the only one pertaining to this blog and probably the only one you’d care about, is that I’m gonna keep this blog going, with most likely a new post every month. When i first started doing this a little over a year ago, it was because I was missing my old radio show days. I wasn’t sure if I would have the same excitement and energy or much less the time. That being said….lets get to it.

Not as much of the 60s goofiness this time around.

Tumbleweed was a stoner-esque/grunge rock band from Austrailia. Around in the 1990s when the grunge thing was happening, they released a handful of singles and records. This is from their first single, and was produced by Mark Arm of Mudhoney. Yeah that blonde guy.

I had a conversation about Crimpshrine recently. This song is for Fran.

Silver Salute (Minneapolis) was an AmRep band that I recently re-discovered. Features members of Vertigo. This is from one of their singles. They did 3 and nothing else. Bummer.

Ex Wives (Glasgow) have that Touch N Go, Shellac, Albini, razor, chunky sound. You know, you love it. I think they only have a single and a cd-r (which is available from their myspace page). Hopefully a full length is in the works.

DcOi! is not Oi! But good ‘ol, in your face, hardcore. The recording I have is messed up in parts. So when the song ends abruptly…that’s how it is. Oh well, deal with it. Life isn’t perfect.

Action Beat (UK) are an improv noise / no wave rock band with about 10 members in the band. Touring must suck for them. Don’t know if all of them would necessarily tour or not. But hey anyway, I would love it if they would tour and come to the states. This new record is on Southern, and sounds great. If you like Sonic Youth, The Ex, bloody guitars, 3 drummers, then you’ll like. Go on, try it out.

I got my kicks from some good newish thrash recently. Municipal Waste and Toxic Holocaust have both been around for a while and have somewhat new albums out. Actually Municipal Waste made it to Decibel magazines top 40 records of 2009. So there you go. Don’t listen to me, go get it for yerself.
