The new stuff is still has the noise rock gears cranking, but they've definitely studied the Slint manual, to see the documentation, workflow and exploded views, thus filling up the tool box, with quieter and intricate parts. Solid labor. Noise rock union approved.

BIG UPS - EIGHTEEN HOURS OF STATIC (2014)

The Big Ups from New York, NY play an indie/noise brand of rock that shows up drunk at the party and can be seen mingling with the likes of Slint, Big'n, Metz, Bitch Magnet, Rodan...get what I'm saying?
Overall the songs tear through angular and crunchy noise rock assaults, but the Big guys aren't afraid to slow it down at times to mix in some indie / mathy compositional components. There is definitely more than background static happening throughout these 11 tracks. Get ready to have your party crashed and then turn out better.
