I realize this comp has been around on other blogs and such.
But fuck it! It's a killer compilation that continues to have the need to be played over and over.

Plus I was just reading about a book that came out about the club called "It All Dies Anyway: L.A. Jabberjaw, and the End of an Era" and it got me in the mood to hear this again.

Been on a Helmet kick lately, (but really that's a weekly thing most of the time).
But especially with all the 'Betty' 20 year anniversary hubbub stuff happening. This is a cool little rare and hard to find EP, from back in the day when they used to do these CD single thingys. This includes the title track off the album and 4 live bonus songs. Eeeeeeee!

HELMET - UNLIVE 08-05-91 (1991)

Here's a cool bootleg for ya. A pretty familiar one for any Helmet fan who pay attention. But nonetheless its pretty rare to come by and can be pricey.

So what you have here a killer, great sounding, live recording from 1991, right before 'Meantime' came out and blew everyone away. Most of the songs are from 'Strap It On'. But a cool thing to mention is the first track, which is an early working of FBLA II. They still hadn't dialed it in all the way, so the structure is different. Cool to hear it like this.
And of course anyone who has seen Helmet live knows they play their songs 100x faster live than recorded. So this is like 'Strap It On', on speed. Essential shit
