GIRL BAND - THE EARLY YEARS (2015)
This was a Record Store Day release thingy this year if you're into that sort of thing.
I'm into it, if this kind of good shit is gonna come out.
Girl Band is a rockin' band of the noisy variety from Ireland, and have been mentioned here on the bloggo before. What you get is a 5-song collection of fuzzy, angry, hypnotic blasts from older singles that are now out of print, and one new song which is actually a cover of a techno band called Blawan.
Don't let that scare you though, these guys are far from anything remotely techno. Even with the first song, Lawman, laying down a groove that would have your teenage cousin shakin' her ass.
Definitely recommended.

GIRL BAND - DE BOM BOM EP & LIVE AT KEXP (2014)
Here's some new stuff from Girl Band (Ireland). I've featured these guys here on the blog before.
2 different things for you...a new 7" single which is now sold out. But you can get the digital version at their bandcamp page for free.
And also included here is a full performance (20 min) live on KEPX back in November which sounds great! This is an audio rip. You can find the video on YouTube, and download the audio below. Neat-o!

GIRL BAND - LAWMAN (2014) & FRANCE 98 (2012)
DL: LAWMAN
DL: FRANCE 98
Pretty good noise-pop from this quartet outta Ireland. The songs weave in and out of screeching noise and feedback, and into tight hooks poppier than a faceful of zits on a teenage boy. This recalls everything you loved about Sub Pop in the 90s. Lawman is a 2 song 7" and France 98 is a 6 song EP. So you get 8 total romping blasts here, served up from their Bandcamp locale. Another thing to mention, is these were vinyl releases with super cool hand and screen printed sleeves. Very limited and sold out now as you can imagine.
