Chicago mathy/noise rock from Truck or Dead Horse.

They have a sort of mix of early 90s Chicago rock like something on Touch and Go... Tar / Don Caballero / Hoover (I know, not Touch and Go) parts.
Mixed with later 90s / early 2000s Chicago rock like stuff that was out on Thick records or Divot Records...Haymarket Riot / Brass Knuckles / Neutrino / Braid? type stuff.

This was the debut EP from Hamden, Connecticuts Heavy Breath. From back in 2010.
Is it heavy? Damn skippy. Better be with that name. 

After you get past the weird, Queen/Flash Gordon sounds with Clockwork Orange sample first song, the rest of this 5 song EP punches you in the gut, jaw, eye, ear, teeth and neck with post-hardcore monster riffs and hooks. 

They have some other releases on their bandcamp page worth checking out while your there as well.
I honestly haven't had time to go through any of it yet... But you should. Let me know what you find.

But this early stuff is fucking incredibly insane. Harsh, noisy, brutal.
Steve Austin and Co. were the shit.
This schtuff is definitely filed under the 'Essential' card. Duh.

Anyone see that new Amrep documentary? The story about Steve Austin getting his eyes cooked...fuckin crazy.
