CHERUBS - PINK PARTY DESSERT EP (1992)
Gotta get my lazy ass posting more Cherubs. Escpecially since they've 'supposedly' decided to reunite. Not sure if there will be new recordings or a tour or what. Whatever, I'm excited.
These guys are kings of ugly ass noise rock! Done right!! And this was their first single.

INTERCOURSE - INTERCOURSE (2014)
A band submission of sorts.
Received an email from these swell guys and pleasantly and disgustedly surprised (in the best kinda way of course). Intercourse is 4 dudes from New Haven, CT who make a loud, hefty and drunk noise punk ruckus with a power hardcore tinge. The cover reminds me of a 16 album cover, and the music punches you in the gut from the first sound blasted at you so sharply and uncivilized like.

X25X - DISTORTION OF LIFE (2010)
Heavy, distorted, abrasive and dirty noise rock from France that definitely nods to old Amrep style.
Hammerhead meets Tad meets Jesus Lizard. Rumbling and chunky like your grandma Tilly.

GASENETA - SOONER OR LATER (1978)
Probably one of the earliest noise rock bands ever, especially on this blog. Gaseneta, a 4 piece out of Japan, recorded this in 1978, and has all the sloppy, crunchy, and ugly aspects of noise rock and garage that you love. Halo of Flies meets Scratch Acid meets Godzilla.
I don't know the original label that released this, but P.S.F reissued this in 1991.

TECHNICIAN - OPPOSITION (2001)
Technician is/was from Pennsylvania.
This 6 song EP was produced by Steve Albini and basically sounds like a Shellac record.
I'm completely and totally fine with that and you should be too.

THRALL - CHEMICAL WEDDING (1996)
Well since I posted one Thrall album previously, I had to get more up here. This is their first full record as Thrall right after a doing a few singles as Hand Over Head. There are even 2 Hand Over Head songs that end up here. This is the best Thrall album in my opinion, with Mike Hard at his psychotic best, and with a combination of great guitar parts, electronic samples, and stellar production.
Do it now. Do it now!

SCUD - SPY SMASHER RECORDINGS / STEVE ALBINI RECORDINGS (1994)
Ahhhhh...the cool thing about doing this blog....discovering new shit. This was given to me from Boris who was in Scud, a killer, gnarly and ugly noise rock band from Germany in the mid 90s. This contains the Spy Smasher 4 song EP plus 4 extra non-released tracks from that recording. Also included are 4 songs that were recorded with Steve Albini that were supposed to go on a split with Big'n, but never happened. The recordings sound great. Would love for these songs to get a proper release some day.

MOUTHEATER - PASSING KEY (2014)
Goddamn I say, this is how its done! Ugly kozmik noise rock flower sludge right to the solar plexus. Moutheater (not Mouthbreather) from Norfolk Virginia rips our faces off with aggressive, gruff vocals, start and stop and fast and slow heavy riffs, thudding bass, and crushing drums. Imagine Coliseum, Unsane, Helmet, Ken Mode and Whores in a giant cement mixer jumping a live volcano. Wooooooo!

TABLE - UNWIND / GAG BOX 7" (1992)
Badass mathy noise-rock from Table out of Chicago, who were active in the mid 90s.
Think a mix of Tar, Jesus Lizard, Quicksand, Season To Risk, Shellac. You're thinking aren't you?
I can see the gears spinning. Spin spin spin.

BICHKRAFT - MACKOT (2014)
Another band submission.
This time from the Ukraine. Really good stuff in the vein of Dreamdecay, Big Black, Austerity Program, Future to the Left. The use of the drum machine mixed with slight heavyness and dark pop is done well here. Not so much tearing thru you like Godflesh, but there are some industrial-ish moments mixed with dark wave. On the lighter side for a noise record in terms of usual staticfraction posts. But its worth your attention.

THRALL - HUNG LIKE GOD (2001)
With all the Mike Hard projects in the world, I've posted some God Bullies, and Hand Over Head (which reminds me, I need to get the rest of both their shit up here), can't believe its taken this long to get some Thrall up here on this blog-a-reeno.

SEX SNOBS - UGLY EP & LONELY LP (2014)
This was a band submission. Thanks fellers.
Really digging these pummeling sounds ripping through my ear canals and rattling around in my skull.
Sex Snobs are a 3 piece fuzzed out noise punk outfit from Oklahoma City, OK. You can hear Amrep/Learning Curve influences in there...some Guzzard / Vaz / Hammerhead style rawk, with vocals that almost remind me of Nation of Ulysses or other Dischord bands.
They have a full length and a new EP, so snag 'em up from their Bandcamp links below.

PINK AND BROWN - SHAME FANTASY II (2003)
2 piece, damaged noise rock from San Francisco.
You like Lightning Bolt?
You like godheadSilo?
You like Gay Witch Abortion?
You like Dead?
Then you'll like this!
Yeah I know, I just named 2 piece noise bands for comparison. Just trust me and do it!!

TWO TRICK HORSE - BURRO DEL FUEGO (2014)
Good schtuff from this one trick noise band from Leeds...UK that is. 5 song goodness for fans of Drive Like Jehu, Crain, and Shellac that rip, tear, shred, mangle and maim like spurs to the underside. Apparently these guys are finished already. Bummer to hear. Saddle up, and snag this down.

DEAD RIDER - CHILLS ON GLASS (2014)
So after the split with Poino, then posted their new release, only fair to do the same with Dead Rider.
Damaged, and abstract art noise rock, this sucker gets under your skin and into your brain mass. Todd Rittmann, former guitarist of U.S. Maple gives us a deconstructed, twisted and chaotically complex recording. Sometimes electronic, sometimes disjointed jazz, sometime noisy surrealism, hard to get through at times, but instantly summons you back in like a bad drug fix to finish what you've started.
(Drag City - 2014)
DL: CHILLS ON GLASS
POINO - BON ICK VOYEUR (2014)
More from Poino since I just posted their split with Dead Rider. This is their latest full length and is a little different than previous stuff. Its more on the indie/math side, and less on the driving noisy side. More injections of experimental jazz structures seem to indicate influences of late night drinking with Dead Rider. Good company.

POINO / DEAD RIDER SPLIT (2011)
8 song split thingy from Poino and Dead Rider. D. Rider or Dead Rider features members of US Maple, Brise-Glase, Cheer Accident and more and is on the experimental, chaotic and deconstructed side. What you would expect.
Poino features Gaverick de Vis, formerly of Giddy Motors, and is more rock on the ugly noise side, ala, Shorty, Pissed Jeans or Jesus Lizard.

KILLDOZER - THE PIG WAS COOL 7" (1993)
I should probably just do a big Killdozer post, and get the rest of their stuff up here.

You know the song...you love it.

KILLDOZER - LITTLE BABY BUNTIN' (1987)
So I was listening to this in the car, and thought, hmm this needs to be up on staticfraction for others to enjoy in their cars as well. Also good on airplanes, tractors, big wheels, roller coasters, soapbox derby cars, unicycles... So that takes care of that right?
Also, I went back to see what else I had posted by Killdudes, and noticed the Snakeboy link was dead. So that's fixed as well. Thanks for the mention in comment, and sorry took a bit to notice.

SURROGAT - UNRUHIG (1994)
Super badass noise rawk from Germany. Founded in Berlin. Don't really know much about 'em, except that they tear it up. They have a few newer records than this as well that I'm trying to track down. Definitely recommended if you dig, Glazed Baby, Steel Pole Bath Tub, Shellac, Jesus Lizard, Shorty, Distorted Pony. Also, I'm trying a new host for DLs. Lemme know if something doesn't work.

THE COLTRANES - MAN WITH THE HAT (2013)
Some oldies but goodies the last couple posts...but lets get some newer noise heading yer direction. Well, new as in newer than the 90s. This is about a year old, but still a good 'un for your collection.
The Coltranes, from Temecula, California, make a pretty good ruckus of menacing and belligerent muck that kicks you right in your sweet spot.
This 7 song release is heavy, unnerving, intense and chaotic but undeniably catchy.
Like 7 bug zaps to the tongue.

RAPEMAN - INKI'S BUTT CRACK EP (1989)
OK. Let's see how long this lasts before getting yanked down. Grab it now quick kids!
You should know this by now, but just in case...Rapeman was Steve Albini's short-lived project between Big Black and Shellac. And the 2 songs on this rare 7" are pretty hard to come by.
This was also, back when Sub Pop was more consistent on their "sound" of releases.

OIL SEED RAPE - PAID EP (1992)
Kickass 90s noise rock from the U.K. Oil Seed Rape was abrasive and raw and draw comparisons to Butthole Surfers, the Jesus Lizard, Swans, and especially Big Black. Crunchy and thick like a bowl of Cap'n Crunch poured over 1 month old milk.
(Jackass - 1992)

SPACE DRUGS - SPIT IT OUT (2013)
5 song EP from these crazies from Waterford, New Jersey. Blown-out, and fuzzed-out, with hints of garage-punk mixed with indie with a think layer of noise punk swirled on top. Definitely nodding back to the 90s.
A lil Season to Risk. A lil Unwound. Some VSS. Some Jay Reatard.
As they say: Music to fuck your space sluts to. Yep. That about sums it up. Kids...stay on Space Drugs.
