Seattle, WA's Health Problems are no strangers to staticfraction.
Featured an early demo way back here.
They continue bulldozing right along with bombastic, thudding noise in the vein of Pissed Jeans, Hawks and Flipper. Right in the vein!

JABBERJAW - GOOD TO THE LAST DROP (1994)

I realize this comp has been around on other blogs and such.
But fuck it! It's a killer compilation that continues to have the need to be played over and over.

Plus I was just reading about a book that came out about the club called "It All Dies Anyway: L.A. Jabberjaw, and the End of an Era" and it got me in the mood to hear this again.
So I'm sharing it cuz now you're thinking about it too. You're welcome.
Read this too.

LES SPRITZ - LES SPRITZ (2015)

Les Spritz are from Messina, Italy...
They play a loud, chaotic and frantic style of instrumental pandemonium rock.
Similar to Dead, godheadSilo, and Lightning Bolt.
Like chewing on tin foil, while laying in a bathtub filled with water and toaster ovens and having an electric eel wrapped around you. Gaa-zaaap!

CRAIN - HEATER (1994)

So that last Crain album got me thinking of this one.

Some may argue. (...go on argue), but either way, you can't go wrong with these guys.

TEETH - THE STRAIN (2012)

I've seen this floating around on other blogs. Its a great record. Not sure why I didn't have it here before.
Anyway, Steve Albini engineered this record. Cool enough.

But I wanted to point out that Albini was on Marc Maron's WTF podcast recently.
And in the conversation, he mentioned this being one of his personal biggest records. Because
apparently one of the members had cancer, and decided to record this album with the remaining time he had left to live. Powerful shit right?
Its a good interview...I suggest checking it out on the WTF site/app. And listening to the whole story.
It made me go back and listen to this album with a different perspective.

BBIGPIGG - DIN-DIN (2015)

I could swear I posted this a while back. It recently came across my desk, and I was like, oh yeah that's on the blog. But when I looked, it wasn't there. Damnit!
So here it is for reals!

Erupting from Brooklyn’s guts like a cultural vomiting fit, bbigpigg’s ferocious SEWER-PUNK sound leaves audiences with ringing ears and the best kind of bad taste in their mouths. Mixing “noise” and “rock” in equal measure, bbigpigg’s blunt, pulverizing knuckledusters crossbreed The Jesus Lizard’s airtight rhythm section with Arab on Radar’s haywire guitar-work, invoking an ugly, groove-heavy commotion far catchier than it has any right to be.
(Money Fire - 2015)

DL: DINDIN

BIRTHDAY GIRL - PEEL (2015)

New 4-song thingy from Oakland's, Birthday Girl.

'68 - IN HUMOR AND SADNESS (2014)

Just discovered these guys and gawd-dayam they're goooood!!
A duo from Atlanta, GA that are loud, disruptive, chaotic, exploding!
Mash The Bronx, Nirvana and Shellac into an insane little noise punk package of pow!

Honestly, I don't know how big these guys are.
Generally I try to stick with the smaller unknowns 'round these parts...
so I apologize if these guys are huge Hasselhoffs in some parts 'round the globe and I'm unaware.
But this shit's the bombastic bomb-o-rama, and fit here just aok!

This be their only full length. Get ready to get your head schmacked!!

GONE BALD - WAITING IT OUT (2010)

I'll admit, the cover art misleads. No, this is NOT a ska album, as much as it looks like it.
You should know by now that I wouldn't do that to you guys.
This is a noise/indie influenced rocking band from Amsterdam that has been kicking around for 20 years! Wow! Maybe they were called Going Bald back then. (Heh heh).

Anyway, they play a buzzsaw style of rock with influences pulled from the Albini Instruction manual. Throw in some Sebadoh, Truman's Water, and Big'n, and this should slap your face into a rubbery, stretchy, pliable putty.

WHITEY - THE WHITEY ALBUM (2007)

This is Andy Newman's post-Glazed Baby project.
It's noisy like Glazed Baby, but has some bluesy aspects swirling within.
No this has nothing to do with Sonic Youth either, which is what mostly comes up when searching for this. Definitely 'must have' shit.

MEATWOUND - ADDIO (2015)

Impossibly dangerous and hardcore as shit, a thundering concoction of 90s influences...industrialized elements of Fudge Tunnel and Godflesh meet a sordid death metal edge meshing Sepultura and Exit-13, all while a throbbing Big Black style of punk gets a scuzzy sci-fi kick in the nuts that harkens The Locust. It's beyond aggressive, it's as unruly as a pet store on fire, and like Warchild from 'Point Break," it's here to fuck you up.

THE CATALYST - FREAK OUT THE SQUARES (2006)

Richmond, VA's powerhouse dudesquad THE CATALYST.

These guys are light-years ahead of their time simply in "coolness" alone, but it doesn't hurt that their band fucking RULES. They're kind of like KARP if they were still around to tour with PG.99 and BOTCH, or NIRVANA if they'd been more into JIMI HENDRIX than THE MELVINS.

But these comparisons fail to do THE CATALYST the justice they deserve... simply put, this shit fucking sheds and these are only DEMOS.

DIAL - SELF-TITLED (2009)

The old expression "like a ton of bricks" doesn't even come close here. The weight of a mountain is what DIAL drops on you with their absolutely crushing 5-song debut EP. The austere New Zealand outfit originally self-released this as a demo, but the material contained within is leaps and bounds beyond what most bands accomplish even at their best. DIAL successfully channels the darkest corners of the AmRep catalog, the raw ferocity of classic hardcore, offtime kilter of math-rock, and the whole concept that music can actually be dangerous.

So lemme make it up with something truly awesome.

Seriously heavy, noisy and pummeling noise rock from Sleiveen Hostess out of Finland.
These guys are probably the neighbors of Throat I could guess...drinking the same booze
and eating the same funny looking shrubbery behind the garage.
So yeah, take... Throat, Unsane, Blacklisters, KEN mode and mash it up for this ugly concoction.
FUCK YEAH!

LOUDSPEAKER - SUPERNATURAL (1991)

90s bands had all the cool names. Seriously, if you had no idea about this band, you would have your curiosity peaked right? Maybe not the best album title though, but thats ok. That happened in the 90s as well.

So, these guys started out in the crusty punk band Crucifix. Weird.
This is the heavier, less-punk, noisier project that came afterwards.
They did 3 thick albums and a burning pile of singles. This is their first full headsmacker.
Part Cop Shoot Cop. Part God Bullies. Park Season To Risk. Part Killdozer. Blast it!
