A SNAKE OF JUNE - LE BUCIE (2015)

Heavy, thudding noise rock from France.
Do the clicky click thing.
(Day Off / Some Produkt - 2015)

MEATWOUND - ADDIO (2015)

Impossibly dangerous and hardcore as shit, a thundering concoction of 90s influences...industrialized elements of Fudge Tunnel and Godflesh meet a sordid death metal edge meshing Sepultura and Exit-13, all while a throbbing Big Black style of punk gets a scuzzy sci-fi kick in the nuts that harkens The Locust. It's beyond aggressive, it's as unruly as a pet store on fire, and like Warchild from 'Point Break," it's here to fuck you up.
(Magic Bullet - 2015)

THE CATALYST - FREAK OUT THE SQUARES (2006)

Richmond, VA's powerhouse dudesquad THE CATALYST.

These guys are light-years ahead of their time simply in "coolness" alone, but it doesn't hurt that their band fucking RULES. They're kind of like KARP if they were still around to tour with PG.99 and BOTCH, or NIRVANA if they'd been more into JIMI HENDRIX than THE MELVINS.

But these comparisons fail to do THE CATALYST the justice they deserve... simply put, this shit fucking sheds and these are only DEMOS.
(Robotic Empire - 2006)

DL: FREAK OUT

DIAL - SELF-TITLED (2009)

The old expression "like a ton of bricks" doesn't even come close here. The weight of a mountain is what DIAL drops on you with their absolutely crushing 5-song debut EP. The austere New Zealand outfit originally self-released this as a demo, but the material contained within is leaps and bounds beyond what most bands accomplish even at their best. DIAL successfully channels the darkest corners of the AmRep catalog, the raw ferocity of classic hardcore, offtime kilter of math-rock, and the whole concept that music can actually be dangerous.
