WE WILL BURY YOU - A TRIBUTE TO KILLDOZER (2006)
Normally I'm not a big fan of tribute records. The original take of a song for the most part is what I know and like, so to hear another band 're-work' it, doesn't often juggle my balls.
But this particular compilation does...ahem...juggle my balls. The bands on this comp do their own versions, but do them in a cool enough way to make this a worthy listen.
And with a lineup consisting of:
Mt. Shasta
Cash Money
Season to Risk
Haze XXL
JJ Paradise Players Club
Gorch Fock
Meatjack and more. Shit, even Killdozer is on here too.
What are you waiting for scumbags? Snag it up!

USA NAILS - SONIC MOIST (2014)
This post probably shoulda came the other day with the other UK bands I was posting.
I was thrown at first because of the USA in the title, so naturally thought that's where they were from.
But alas no, USA Nails pull a fast one, are from the UK, and steam right on through you! They definitely have those post-punk sounds that could put them on a Dischord Records roster. Songs get noisy at times, but for the most part stay ripping straight ahead with fury, while borrowing some killer Hot Snakes rhythms mixed in for good measure. These guys nail it. Heh heh.

JUNK IN THE TRUNK - PROMISES UNKEPT/LOOSEN MY SCREWS (1994)
Junk in the Trunk were a trio from New York in the 90s that put out 2 eps of raw, unpleasant, sloppy and gritty rock goodness. Terrible band name, but that was the 90s right?
Lubricated Goat meets Pussy Galore meets Flipper meets Drunks with Guns.

THE JESUS LIZARD - SHOW (1994)
So here in the US, we are celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, by eating and drinking too much. Don't really know how that's any different from a normal day, but hey I'll take the day off. You're also supposed to give thanks for stuff that... well is important.
Of all the bands on this here blog, one band gets compared to quite a bit, and music wouldn't be quite the same without 'em. So I'm thankful for the The Jesus Lizard. Changed my life and hopefully yours too.
This was recorded live at CBGBs (which deserves some thanks too I guess) in NY in 1994.
(Giant Records - 1994)
DL: SHOW
*Guess I should thank all the cool people who visit and have visited this blog too.
Its not many, but I'm happy for the few of you with impeccable taste. Cheers.

HEADCLEANER - BOGIEMAN EP (1992)
More stuff from the UK. UK Tuesday? Ok. That works.
Killer 90's industrial/noise from Headcleaner. If you dig Killing Joke, Cop Shoot Cop, Silverfish, Barkmarket, steel i-beams falling from the sky, brownies with weird stuff in them, mismatched socks, then you're weird but cool. And you will like this ep as well.
Maybe we should hang? See if our socks match?
(Eve Recordings - 1992)

WORKIN' MAN NOISE UNIT - YELLOW MIND 7" (2014)
3 song EP from UKs Workin' Man Noise Unit. One of the best band names around I'd have to say.
Fuzzed out and blown out. Imagine your favorite stoner rock bands adding some noisy punk and feedbacky cracklin' nut bran to the mix. Fu Manchu meets Earthless meets Cosmic Psychos meets Halo of Flies.
Better louder.

DRUNK DAD - RIPPER KILLER (2014)
Wow...3rd post today. Definitely going for quantity over quality here at the 'ol staticfraction torture listening box. We're into quality of course, just the horse-whipped, torture and mayhem, punch to the mouth kind of quality.
That said...Portland's Drunk Dad fits right into that mold of anguish. Their art-fucked sludgy hardcore free-jazz noise rock is as unclassifiable as it is enthralling. Their 1st LP Ripper Killer, breaks down the stifling genre walls of yore and rewires the wreckage into an mega-heavy alloy of scuzz, filth, and noise in a knock-down, drag-out war of ill will wrapped in a nasty bow. It rips, it kills, it's DRUNK DAD.

LAUGHING HYENAS - MERRY GO ROUND (1987)
Ok. More classic stuff for you noise nerds.
First album from Ann Arbour, Michigan's Laughing Hyenas who were around between 1985-1995.
Noisy, dirgy and throat-shredding. This is the CD version which contains bonus stuffs not on the original release.
(Touch and Gooo - 1987)
DL: MERRY GO
HOARSE - HOARSE (2014)
Not to be confused with the late 90s indie/punk band... Hoarse is a heavier, sleazier, thudding good time humdinger that will kick your swollen tail-end repeatedly full of noise rock-n-goddamn roll.
These Aussies do it again with another ugly-ass, bruising sludge trail of nose crunching, ear collapsing, eye gouging, teeth splattering, elephant horn blaster that fits in the crushing machine with Throat, Whores, Blacklisters. You get it.
Complete with album art style that reminds me of Septic Death or 16.

RABBITS - UNTOWARD (2014)
Full contamination of the human population is the malicious contagion known as Untoward, born of Portland based vermin Rabbits. Blaring amplification and sarcastic, parasitic methodology, this trio unloads 6 songs of dynamic aggravation, now on Chris Spencers' (Unsane and Cutthroats 9...duh) label Lamb Unlimited.

UNA BÈSTIA INCONTROLABLE - OBSERVANT COM EL MÓN ES DESTRUEIX (2013)
Experimental noisy hardcore from Barcelona's Una Bèstia Incontrolable, roughly translated means, an uncontrollable beast!
And its fitting. This distorted, repetitive, and heavy, 9-song beast, snarls, and will tear and shred you up like uncle Lawrence Talbot on his midnight feedings when the moon is full. Ah-ooooooo!

BIRTHDAY GIRL - DEMO (2014)
Pretty dirtgy and gritty demo from Birthday Girl outta Oakland, CA. You have your Drunks With Guns in there. Your Flipper in there. A smidgeon of Fang. A shred of Clockcleaner. A scrap of old Neurosis in there as well. Sounds like early SST colliding with early Alt Tentacles schtuff.
Watch out for that creepy party clown chuggin' a bottle of whiskey before lighting his cigar off of your birthday cake candles. ...aaand many mooooore....

KURT - LA GUARD (2002)
Did you like that last post, Ten Volt Shock? Of course you did. Then of course you should dig this as well. Similar style wrock and wroll shredding you a new arse. Also features members that went on to form Ten Volt Shock. Ahhhh. Now it all comes together. Like a whirling death machine... with some assembly required.

TEN VOLT SHOCK - STRASBOURG (2013)
High energy, brute force and intricate and intelligent noise rock intensity. Ten Volt Shock is a 3 piece from Germany and this slab of noise rock goodness is their fifth full length ass kicker. Walloping bass, machine gun rhythms, clangy, bashing guitars and gruff vocals will lay waste to the room in seconds.
If you're into The Austerity Program, Shellac, Glazed Baby, New Brutalism, then this should grab your goodies.

Cottaging seeps out of the dark vapor abyss with drugged out and spaced out caterwauling, with plenty of crunchy rhythms and delay-drenched vocals. Untrustworthy curmudgeons ingesting Chrome & Helios Creed and spewing aural shit over the Northeast Corridor. Its fun to take a trip!

BAGUETTE - SEXYSEXY123 (2014)
Debut EP of the Austrian noise rock duo Baguette.
5 songs that kick out the jams as angular and sludgy versions of Pissed Jeans, Hammerhead, Butthole Surfers and Lightning Bolt. Soundtrack to crawling naked across the Sahara Desert with all kinds of drugs and booze flowing through your system. Sounds like a typical weekend eh?

COP SHOOT COP - HEADKICK FACSIMILE (1989)
Ok I really want to get all, or at least most of the Cop Shoot Cop stuff up here. And since I just posted the first single, here's their first album (if you call 6 songs an album). Makes sense, yes?
This stuff is so important and still holds up in my opinion today. You youngsters, pay attention.

COP SHOOT COP - PIECE MAN (1989)
First 3-song EP from ground (and groin) breaking post-punk/ industrial/ noise group Cop Shoot Cop from NYC.
(Sorry, I typed 'groin' by accident, but decided to keep it in there).
These were limited to 1000 and were apparently all individually splattered with real pig's blood.
What, no human blood? That's just lazy. FYI...there are no guitars on this, but still kicks ass.

JUBILE - SONGS OF THE COLD NORTH (2012)
Angular and noooiiiisseeee stuff from Jubilé outta São Tomé and Príncipe, the 2nd smallest African country. But this ain't no African tribal dance music. It puts you in your place and tells you to shut the Hell up!
Don't know much about these guys, but their description states...at worst you'll just lose 30 minutes. OK!
It also says...my ass is tofu and something about Rock 'n' Roll masturbation. Ok. You got my attention. I'm in. You'll dig this if you're into Shellac, New Brutalism, Shorty, Dazzling Killmen.
Oh, and the Bandcamp link only has half the songs. Not sure what's up with that.

THE POWERS THAT BE - CRUDE SOUND / THE MORNING AFTER 7" (1992)
I never know which art side picture to post. They're both cool. (Picture disc art by Dan Kalal.)
So this is The Powers That Be, from Manchester UK. They did this single, and one other song on a 4 band comp. Have to track it down somewhere. This single was for the Amrep Research & Development series from back in the early 90s. C'mon its Amrep...get it chumps!

THE BLIND SHAKE - GET YOUTH 7" (2014)
The Blind Shake, from Minneapolos, is at once spacey, primitive futuristic, and brutal: a kind of backyard extraterrestrial minimal surf-punk party. One guitar, one baritone guitar, a fuckload of reverb, and a drummer who deserves an Olympic medal.” –SF Weekly This is their new 2-song single. Get it!

QUI - LOVE'S MIRACLE (2007)
Ah, what the Hell, lets post that Qui album with Mr. Yow. 2 fer Tuesday or something.

QUI - BABY KISSES (2003)
Qui is a duo rock band probably most well known because of their David Yow collaboration.
I didn't get super into these guys even with the insertion of Yow at first. But I went back and did some exploring and found that this pre-Yow, first record is actually pretty damn good. I think you'll agree.
We are not friends anymore if you don't like this....
Well, ok I still like you aok. Even though you've been wearing that same shirt for 3 days. Don't lie. You know you have been.

POUTRE - ESCALADE (2009)
Poutre are a 3 piece from Arles France and go straight for the jugular in hammering out the gnarly, angular, aggressive wrock. This is their first record from what I know according to their Bandcamp page. They have a newer, equally good effort from 2013 there as well, but only 2 songs are available for preview. This whole kit and kaboodle is up and it slays ass, so I figured I'd offer this up as the 'full listen' for your wimpy asses. If Crain, KEN mode, My Disco, and Johnboy were French, this would be the ugly sister.

BEIGE EAGLE BOYS - YOU'RE GONNA GET YOURS (2014)
Ah shit...another one of those, 'I thought I posted this a while back', but never did. Well most of you who visit this blog have probably heard this by now, but in case you haven't...here ya go! Also, for my own selfish 'want to get all the cool noise-rock on my blog as possible' way of thinking. Heh heh.
So basically, if you dig Amrep, old Touch & Go, Trance Syndicate, slamming 5 shots of whiskey then spinning awkwardly in a room on your head, naked, while people pelt you with Skittles... this should hit your wheelhouse... Feel the rainbow!

SHAT SHORTS - SHAT SHORTS (2013)
Let me start by by saying, this is one of the best band names I've heard in a while.
That being said, the music doesn't blow you away, or even come close to making you...ahem...have your shorts shat in, but it is worthy of your listening time. Before I realized where they were from (D.C.) they reminded me of something that would fit at home on Dischord. They bombard you with indie punk noise and at times spazzy rampage, but sometimes the songs drop into some heavier riffs.
If you're into, Nation of Ulysses, Refused, Drive Like Jehu, Unwound, Crimson Curse, you'll dig this. D.I.Y.!

YES I'M LEAVING - SLOW RELEASE (2014)
More dirty, scuzzy, ugliness from the fine folks at Homeless records. They brought us nasty hit records from Sewers, Gentlemen, The Cuntz, Bits of Shit, Shovels and more.
Continuing down the muddy hate-trail is Yes I'm Leaving, a 3-piece from Sydney, Australia who mashes our earholes with a raunchy and dirgy soundtrack of filth and negativity. A brutal steamroller of menacing angst attacks us giving a bloody fat lip and flying teeth similar to a bar brawl with Scratch Acid, Lubricated Goat and Feedtime.

TORONTO HOMICIDE SQUAD - NEIN BULLETS & CS024 (2013/2014)
The Toronto Homicide Squad is a duo from... you guessed it...Toronto. Although they could have been really zany and called themselves the Vancouver Homicide Squad, or Montreal Homicide Squad just to be weird. Anywho, Nein Bullets is a 6-song EP, and CS024 is a 2-song single. If you're into the 2 band pummeling action similar to Dead, godheadSilo, Doses, Gay Witch Abortion, Rush (ha, making sure you're paying attention) that sort of bedlam, there's no reason this shouldn't fluff your stuff.

GERDA - UNTITLED (2009)
5 song thingy released a few years back from Gerda, a band from Jesi, Italy. One song is a chaotic beast that clocks in at 11 minutes, so technically you're getting more than your moneys worth.
And speaking of technically, they seem pretty technical and calculated, getting mathy and indie at times. But they definitely lean towards the noisy, screamy and post-hardcore-y side, so don't expect an easy listening waltz with your grandma with this one. Pow! Biff! Bam!
