DEATH TO PIGS - LIVE AT KARACHI (2012)
Damaged, dirty, and noisy as fuck. Death To Pigs (France) play a pounding, buzzsaw and gut wrenching style of rock similar to Pissed Jeans, Jesus Lizard, Cop Shoot Cop, and Swans.
This record has some no-wave and experimental elements, which is different from their past shit, but still remains as ugly as your step sisters friends.
Also, this is not a live album, as states, but 13 studio songs for your displeasure. Killer shit.
(213 Records - 2012)

SCUL HAZZARDS - COUNT LESS DEAD (2007)

BAKAMONO - THE CRY OF THE TURKISH FIG PEDDLER (1994)
Here's some cool angular, mathy, weirdo noise rock from Bakamono...not all that dissimilar to Fugazi, Sonic Youth, Hoover, Nation of Ulysses, Steel Pole Bath Tub, and Cherubs... all in a boozy, fuzzy-eyed pool party.
Just make sure you warmup and stretch the muscles before listening to this. Don't want to pull a hammy while getting down, doing 'The Jerk' to this in your living room, basement or backyard.
Must-have stuff.
(Priority Records - 1994)
DL: TURKISH FIG
ABRAMS - LUST. LOVE. LOSS. (2015)
Good new debut shit from Abrams, a 3-piece from Denver, Color-RAD-o.
Gnarly, heavy, angst driven, guitar riff rawk in the vein of Doomriders, Coliseum, Ladder Devils, Baroness, and Disappearer.
That's quite a mouthful eh? Get on it fools.

TANTRUM - TWISTED IN ANGUISH (1997)
Goddamn this shit is good!!!
You like Helmet?...Of course you do.
You like Cop Shoot Cop?... Yep sure do.
You like Glazed Baby?... I've been known to blast them annoyingly loud.
You like Cows?... Duh!
So this is what you get when you mix those bands into a flammable liquid pool full of fireworks, and drop lit matchsticks into it. K-boooooom!

GODHEADSILO - BOOBY TRAP EP (1999)
Hee Hee. Booby.
Ok I love being 8 years old sometimes.
I wasn't listening to godheadSilo when I was 8 though.
Well, they weren't around yet, but thats beside the point.
Here's a 4 song ep you need to make you feel cool amongst your peers. Believe me, it works.
And you can fill them in on your musical knowledge when you tell them there is a Uriah Heep cover here.
Now, that's a band I probably was listening to when I was 8.
(Sub Poop - 1995)
DL: BOOBY TRAP
ISIS - SAWBLADE EP (1999)
Remember when Isis used to CRUSH everything in their path?
Their later stuff is still good...Hell, even new stuff like Sumac I am digging.
But this earlier stuff just pounds you into dust over and over and over.
And how do you go wrong with Godflesh and Black Sabbath covers that are heavier than the originals?
4 songs here on this early EP. Bashing. Merciless. Brooootal. Blow after blow.
(Hydra Head - 1999)

YEAR FUTURE - YEAR FUTURE EP (2003)
Year Future was around (as far as I know) from 2003 to 2006 ish and this was their first single and release.
4 songs chocked full of post-hardcore / indie-noise with some gothy undertones. Right off the bat you should (yes? no? maybe?) recognize Sonny Kay from The VSS and Angel Hair, and also features band members from Dead and Gone, Creeps On Candy, The Fucking Angels, and more. You can google more info if you're less lazy than I.
If you're into...The VSS, The Birthday Party, Future to the Left, Bauhaus, Drive Like Jehu, Wire, Monorchid...this should titillate your tubes.

BERT - BIG BOX SCHWING (1996)
Off kilter bashing, raunchy and gnashing...Bert (Montgomery, Alabama) attacks with a brutal sounding slab of commotion on this 15 song noise-rock-action pulverizer. I realize there is a 23 song version of this circulating out there, but this is what I got.
If you dig Jesus Lizard, Helmet, Don Caballero, Shellac, Unsane, old Amrep shite...you know, the usual suspects found here at the 'ol blog...there is no reason you wouldn't enjoy getting your head squeezed and schmushed in by this. Who doesn't want their head distorted for free I ask?

BUZZ RODEO - SPORTS (2015)
I was on a short (very short) vacation for a bit.
Then I dropped everything else to watch the Chicago Blackhawks kick all kinds of ass and win the Stanley Cup!...Again! Fucking amazing series!
So I'm back to the blog now.
And speaking of sports...this was sent in by staticfraction's good friend and comrade, Ralf...this being his band.
Buzz Rodeo are a post-punk noise rock Trio from Stuttgart Germany, and Sports is their new, debut effort. Aggressive, powerful, frantic, scratching and clawing rock.
Pure energy thwacking you in the skull and kicking you in the stumps!
You'll find some buzzsaw sounds on this tasty treat similar to Shellac, Sonic Youth, Drive Like Jehu.
So if'n yer into to those bands and good things to make your day better, then chug this down pronto.

UDARNIK - MOMMY SHOOTS A REINDEER (2013)
(band submission)
This album really grew on me fast.
Really great, noisy, grungy rockin shit from Udarnik (Nijmegen, The Netherlands).
A good mix of Hammerhead, Cop Shoot Cop, Nirvana...I guess.
What I really keep hearing in this recording, could be compared to the Smile 'Maquee' album...which is an amazing record.
They have a new 2 song ep worth checking out while you're at their bandcampground too.
Click for enjoyment below!

RABBITS - BITES RITES (2012)
Heeeeeyy....thats not a rabbit on the cover.
I was label hopping (get it?) with that last post and discovered this.
This is the same Rabbits band that did a 7" split with Whores, and have a new album (featured somewhere on this blog) on Chris Spencers' (Unsane, Cutthroats 9) label Lamb Unlimited.
How's that for some noise rock name dropping?
This will punch you in the beanbag.

BLOOD DRUGS - S/T (2015)
Ever leaned on an electric fence after sledgehammering a watermelon?
This is the sensation of Blood Drugs. Feel the voltage flow and wallop through you. The shock, the shot of pain, then pleasure from the pain. -The Stranger
Blood Drugs are from Seattle, Wa-Wa...and this is their new, debut 10 song blaster.
You get some Young Widows / Pissed Jeans sounds happening here, with shots of Hot Snakes and Fugazi mixed in for extra sauce. I'm good with it. You should be too.

Ex-Monsterbator dudes (Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada) new project and new album, out in June.

FIGHT AMPUTATION - CONSTANTLY OFF (2015)
Fight Amputation changed to 'Fight Amp' ...then back again.
Kinda like when little Bobby down the street got older and now wants to be called Robert.
Mature.
Maybe that's what Philadelphia, PA's noise rock power trio is getting at on their new album 'Constantly Off'. Its heavy. Grungy. Sludgy... Mature?...Yes. But only in the sense of kicking up the riffs and locking in the rhythms with the addition of more focused, melodic vocals. Its still a shredder.
Fans of early Melvins, Nirvana, Torche and Eyehategod will dig.

KEN MODE - SUCCESS (2015)
Winnipeg Canada's KEN mode is back with a new record. Taking a different approach from the previous releases. Both the album art and actual musical recorded.
They've brightened their artwork (if you have all your records aligned in iTunes. Am I the only one who still does this?)
But more importantly, have seemed to move towards a more commercial and easier to digest for the masses sound. Its still heavy, noisy, sludgy...its just...different.
For me, their 4th record, 'Venerable' was their best...such a fuckin' killer, blueprint, and high point record, and being one of my favorite records from 2011... this record seems lacking a bit. I know bands need to try new sounds and things, but I feel this falls a little short of the mark. It's still a good record, and with multiple listens, it may grow on these ears....but doesn't knock my face to the dirt like 'Venerable' does.

FUGAZI - LIVE LAST PERFORMANCE 11-04-2002 LONDON UK (2002)
Wow Friday already! Live Shit Fridays! Let's get to it.
So this is a stellar sounding live show from Fugazi back in 2002 in London.
The last of 3 shows, and their last performance ever to be exact. November 11, 2002.
The show clocks in around 1 hour and 40 min... and again I apologize...this is one long track.
Really miss these guys. Their live shows were incredible.
Track listing for this show here. Check out the Fugazi Live Series too if you haven't. Amazing!

HEAVY BREATH - SYNTHEMESC DREAMS (2010)
This was the debut EP from Hamden, Connecticuts Heavy Breath. From back in 2010.
Is it heavy? Damn skippy. Better be with that name.
After you get past the weird, Queen/Flash Gordon sounds with Clockwork Orange sample first song, the rest of this 5 song EP punches you in the gut, jaw, eye, ear, teeth and neck with post-hardcore monster riffs and hooks.
They have some other releases on their bandcamp page worth checking out while your there as well.
I honestly haven't had time to go through any of it yet... But you should. Let me know what you find.
Helmet...meets Snapcase...meets Quicksand....meets Deadguy.
Yup.

TODAY IS THE DAY - WILLPOWER (1994)
So I'll admit, I'm not super into the newer Today Is The Day stuff.
I know alot of you will probably disagree. And that's ok.
We're all allowed to our own tastes and opinions....So leave yours to your damn self. (Haha..just kidding).
But this early stuff is fucking incredibly insane. Harsh, noisy, brutal.
Steve Austin and Co. were the shit.
This schtuff is definitely filed under the 'Essential' card. Duh.
Anyone see that new Amrep documentary? The story about Steve Austin getting his eyes cooked...fuckin crazy.

QUTTINIRPAAQ - DEAD SEPTEMBER (2015)
Damn I hate spelling this band name. I wonder how many t-shirts these guys have with misspellings?
I posted Austin, TX noise blasters Quttinirpaaq here last year.
This is their follow up record, Dead September.
8 songs of bleeding-noise industrial electronic rock. Drum machine bashing away and vocals distorted beyond any semblance of comprehension. Overblownout and drugged out. Get into it!

Ooof...I've done that to my thumb before.
Building old skate ramps back in the day. Hammer comes down. SMACK!!
You wave your hand around trying to 'swat' the pain, and dance around in a circle yelling 'Shit! Shit! Shit!".
Black thumb.
SORES is guys from Black Elk, The Roller and Wet Lungs outta Austin, TX.
If you're into eyehategod, Cavity, Thug, Buzzoven...that sorta heavy, sludgy noise rawk, you'll be into this.
