CROWN ROAST - A NOSE HAS MANY JOBS (1994)

Really, really, really great noise rock from Austin's now defunct, Crown Roast. One of my favs actually. And soon to be yours. When the term 'noise rock' burrows into your funny looking ears and head, you think Amrep, Touch and Go, Shellac, naked David Yow, etc. etc.... But I always think Crown Roast should be in that conversion as well. It's a damn, cryin' shame they weren't bigger.
They only released this one full length and 2 other 7"s. (that I know of). And features future members of Hammerhead, Negative Step, Shit and Shine, and TODD. As McConaughey says...alright, alright, alright.
(Unclean Records - 1994)

yep!
i made a copy of this before having to sell the cd on discogs recently (i needed the money).
i first heard them in aug '93 as past of the 3-track medley/triptych section (whatever) on john peel's guitar storm show.
he referred to the crown roast track 'warthole' as being by 'rig', so it must've been the 7" before they changed their name.

great post!

@Peter Tron. Aw no shit...I didn't even make the connection. Yeah I have a 7" by Rig. And it has Warthole (which is the same off the Crown Roast LP) and a B-side. I'll have to post the Rig 7" now.

Thanks for the info.

PS: Thanks Michelle. Glad you enjoy this.
